This knowledge is foundational: it lets engineers design structures that survive dynamic forces, and it lets them diagnose and cure stubborn vibration problems by revealing exactly which natural frequency is being stirred up. Where a <a href=\"https:\/\/vibromera.eu\/zh-tw\/glossary\/spectrum\/\">\u632f\u52d5\u983b\u8b5c<\/a> tells you what frequencies a running machine is producing, modal analysis tells you which frequencies the structure is predisposed to amplify \u2014 and that distinction is the key to understanding <a href=\"https:\/\/vibromera.eu\/zh-tw\/glossary\/resonance\/\">\u5171\u632f<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>1. The Goal: Identifying Modal Parameters<\/h2>\n<p>Every structure has a unique set of modal parameters fixed by its physical make-up \u2014 its mass, its stiffness, and its damping. The aim of modal analysis is to pin those parameters down:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Natural frequencies (resonant frequencies):<\/strong> the specific frequencies at which the structure vibrates with the largest amplitude when excited.
