Mulcher Balancing and Vibration Reduction: Services and Equipment from Vibromera
Increased mulcher vibration is not just operator discomfort. It's an active destructive process that leads to costly breakdowns and downtime. Vibromera, based in Porto (Portugal), offers professional solutions to this problem throughout the European Union: mobile dynamic balancing services and the unique portable Balanset-1A device for those who want to service their equipment independently.
The Real Cost of Vibration: Why You Can't Ignore Imbalance
Ignoring vibration is direct consent to premature and expensive equipment failure. Rotor imbalance triggers a cascade of failures that inevitably turns into direct financial losses.
What does vibration lead to?
Inevitable bearing wear: Bearing units are the first to take the hit. Constant cyclic loads cause metal spalling, overheating and, ultimately, complete bearing seizure or destruction.
Seal destruction and leaks: Vibration causes shafts to "beat", which quickly wears out seals. The result is hydraulic and lubricant leaks, while dust and dirt get inside the units, accelerating wear.
Fatigue cracks in the frame: Vibration is transmitted to the mulcher body and frame, causing metal fatigue. Over time, microcracks appear that can lead to sudden structural failure, creating a safety hazard for the operator.
Reduced productivity: Vibrating equipment cannot operate at design capacity, leading to uneven processing, reduced grinding efficiency and decreased productivity.
The economics of downtime
The cost of ignoring vibration consists of several factors:
Direct repair costs: The cost of new bearings, shafts, seals and welding work to restore the frame. Emergency repairs are always several times more expensive than scheduled maintenance.
Indirect costs due to downtime: This is the most significant damage. Every hour the equipment is not working is lost profit, missed contract deadlines or lost time for field work.
Reputational risks: Equipment that constantly breaks down undermines the reputation of its owner, whether it's a contractor or a rental company.
Fortunately, most of these problems can be prevented with modern on-site balancing.
Mobile Balancing Service Throughout Europe 🚜
Vibromera adheres to the philosophy that the most accurate balancing is "in-situ" balancing (in its own supports), without dismantling the rotor.
The key advantage of this method is that the rotor is balanced in absolutely real working conditions: in its "native" bearings, on its frame and at nominal operating speed. This allows you to take into account and compensate for the influence of the entire assembled system, eliminating vibration as efficiently as possible.
How does mobile balancing work?
Engineer visit: A specialist arrives at your site anywhere in Europe with all necessary equipment.
Initial vibration diagnostics: Before starting work, measurements are taken to assess the current vibration level. This allows you to confirm that the cause is indeed imbalance.
Dynamic balancing: Using the Balanset-1A device, the engineer performs balancing in one or two planes, accurately determining the mass and location of corrective weights in accordance with ISO 1940 standard.
Final report: Upon completion, you receive an official report with "BEFORE" and "AFTER" vibration indicators - objective confirmation of work quality.
We work with all types and brands of mulchers, including forestry shredders, stump grinders, rotary mowers, as well as industrial fans, crushers and rotors of other agricultural equipment.
Results that speak for themselves
Practice shows that after balancing, equipment works "like clockwork".
A client in Spain had their mulcher vibration level reduced from 9.14 and 21.5 mm/s to 2.48 and 1.51 mm/s.
When balancing an Ahwi Raptor 800 rotor, we achieved an impressive 0.2 and 0.5 mm/s, which practically means complete absence of vibration.
Visual coin test: after our work, a coin placed on edge on the body of a running mulcher does not fall. This is a demonstration of minimal vibration level, unattainable without precise balancing.
Terms and pricing
We work with private owners, farmers, logging companies and service centers throughout continental Europe.
Service cost
+ transport and travel expenses
For work to be carried out, the client must provide access to the equipment and the ability to run it without load.
Balanset-1A: Professional Balancing with Your Own Hands 🛠️
For decades, precision balancing has been the prerogative of specialized companies with equipment costing tens of thousands of euros. Vibromera's mission is to make this technology accessible.
The Balanset-1A device was created to enable mechanics, service departments and equipment owners to independently perform industrial-level precision balancing. The entire interface and methodology is built around a simple step-by-step process that guides the user to results without requiring deep knowledge of vibration theory.
