Reciprocating Compressor System Vibration Evidence Worksheet

Organize applicability, system-boundary, measurement and source evidence for qualified review against ISO 20816-8:2018. This worksheet checks documentation completeness and the verified public scope only; it does not calculate a vibration class, condition diagnosis, alarm, trip setpoint, monitoring interval or operating instruction.

ISO 20816-8:2018 – Edition 1Current – confirmed 2024Kruti temeljiTypical 120 to 1 800 r/minSystem fatigue classificationNot condition monitoringNo automatic class
Not a condition, protection or operating decision. Never derive a diagnosis, monitoring interval, alarm, trip setpoint, continued-operation decision, load restriction, maintenance schedule or shutdown instruction from this website. Apply the licensed current standard, exact system grouping and measurement procedure, fatigue/interface evidence, manufacturer/site limits, process risk, protection philosophy and accountable qualified review.

Evaluation-evidence record

The public abstract lists these as examples; a different arrangement requires licensed applicability review.
Outside the typical range is not declared categorically excluded, but different criteria might be appropriate.
ISO 20816-8 does not include the driver.
Identify the foundation, compressor, pulsation dampers, directly mounted pipe system and auxiliary equipment included in the fatigue classification.
Do not infer velocity, displacement or acceleration from the former page.
Record RMS, peak, peak-to-peak or the exact licensed convention.
Decimal point or decimal comma is preserved. No numerical class is calculated.
Do not assume the former 2 to 1 000 Hz rule without the licensed current procedure.
Record edition, clause/table, system group, criterion, boundary convention and applicable notes. Do not copy protected text into this public worksheet.

Not assessed

This output is not an ISO vibration class, condition diagnosis, alarm, trip setpoint, monitoring interval, acceptance decision or instruction to continue, maintain, restrict load or stop a machine.

    Što je ispravljeno

Unlicensed rigid-foundation boundaries removed. The former A/B, B/C and C/D values lacked a checked licensed current clause/table, group, measurement definition and boundary convention.
Fabricated flexible-foundation boundaries removed. Multiplying claimed rigid values by a fixed uplift cannot create an ISO classification outside the public rigid-foundation scope.
Condition-monitoring use removed. The official abstract explicitly says these guidelines are not intended for condition monitoring.
Piping scope corrected. Piping and directly mounted pipe systems are part of the stated fatigue/system purpose; they are not blanket-excluded from the standard.
System boundary restored. Foundation, compressor, dampers, piping and mounted auxiliaries must be recorded instead of treating one frame scalar as the whole system.
Driver routing made explicit. Driver vibration is evaluated separately under the applicable standard for its intended duty.
Internal diagnosis separated. Valve, piston and ring problems can evade the general criteria and require investigative diagnostics outside scope.
Unverified measurement prescriptions removed. The former 2 to 1 000 Hz band, three-axis/highest-value rule, locations and repetition count are not presented without the licensed procedure.
Automatic operating actions removed. A web value no longer authorizes continued operation, monitoring intervals, maintenance, load restriction or shutdown.
Tool description now matches reality. The old post advertised inputs, presets and instant results although authoritative post_content contained no controls or calculation script.

    Review notes

Why does this page no longer output vibration Class A, B, C or D?

The former values lacked a checked licensed ISO 20816-8:2018 clause/table, exact system group, complete measurement definition and verified boundary convention. A numerical class would therefore be unsupported.

Does ISO 20816-8 exclude piping vibration?

No blanket exclusion is supported. The official abstract says the values help avoid fatigue problems in piping and mounted equipment and protect directly mounted pipe systems. A separate pulsation/mechanical study can still be required for broader piping risks.

Can the classification be used for condition monitoring or internal fault diagnosis?

The official abstract explicitly says the guidelines are not intended for condition monitoring and warns that internal valve, piston and ring problems may require investigative diagnostics outside scope.

Are compressors outside 120 to 1 800 r/min automatically excluded?

No. That interval is described as typical. The general guidelines can be used outside it, but the official abstract warns that different evaluation criteria might be appropriate.

Can this worksheet recommend continued operation, monitoring frequency, maintenance, load restriction or shutdown?

No. It only checks whether a documentation package is complete enough for licensed external evaluation by an accountable qualified reviewer.

Source access: 17 July 2026. No closed ISO clause, table, coefficient or class boundary is copied or inferred. The former numerical classifications, flexible-foundation extrapolation and operating advice were removed because their current normative basis and complete application conditions were not verified.
