Strict cascade power balance
Cascade Drive Efficiency
Combine one to five stage efficiencies from the same operating point. Calculate efficiency alone, output power from input power, or required input power from required output.
Cascade result
The identities follow directly from η=Pout/Pin for each consecutive stage with no unmodelled branch between boundaries.
The US Department of Energy’s Motor-Driven Systems guidebook shows that motor efficiency varies with load. Its motor and drive sourcebook advises using manufacturer drive efficiency as a function of operating speed or load. Therefore this calculator requires actual same-condition inputs instead of component-type defaults.
Removed claims: the former tool prefilled motor, gear, belt, chain, worm and coupling efficiencies and a typical-value table without traceable operating points. It also silently ignored blank, zero or >100% stages while still showing a total. All active stages are now mandatory and validated.
