Condition Monitoring — ISO 13373
Reference tool for ISO 13373 condition monitoring parameters. Select machine type and enter measured vibration to determine status against alarm and danger thresholds.
Assessment
ISO 10816 Vibration Severity Zones
Vibration severity is classified into four zones:
- Zone A — New or reconditioned machines
- Zone B — கட்டுப்பாடற்ற நீண்டகாலச் செயல்பாட்டிற்கு ஏற்றது
- Zone C — Alarm — acceptable only for limited periods
- Zone D — Danger — may cause damage
Velocity Thresholds (mm/s RMS)
Per ISO 10816-3 (now ISO 20816-3): Group 1 — large industrial machines >300 kW–50 MW; Group 2 — medium machines 15–300 kW. Each group is evaluated separately for rigid or flexible support conditions.
| Zone Boundary | Group 1 — Rigid | Group 1 — Flexible | Group 2 — Rigid | Group 2 — Flexible |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| A/B | 2.3 | 3.5 | 1.4 | 2.3 |
| B/C (Alarm) | 4.5 | 7.1 | 2.8 | 4.5 |
| C/D (Danger) | 7.1 | 11.0 | 4.5 | 7.1 |
Baseline Monitoring
A change ratio > 2.5× baseline suggests developing fault. > 4× requires immediate investigation.
ℹ️ Note: Group 1/2 boundaries are from ISO 10816-3 (now ISO 20816-3). Small-machine (<15 kW) values follow general ISO 10816-1 guidance — such machines are outside the scope of Part 3. Specific machine types may have different criteria per specialized parts of ISO 20816.
