Tip speed (peripheral velocity) at the outermost point of the rotor:

- n — rotational speed (RPM)
- vtip — tip speed (m/s)
Centrifugal Acceleration
This is the centrifugal acceleration at the blade tip, expressed as multiples of gravitational acceleration g = 9.81 m/s².

Practical Example
Given: Rotor diameter D = 600 mm, Speed = 2000 RPM
vtip = π × 600 × 2000 / (60 × 1000) = 62.83 m/s
In ft/min: 62.83 × 196.85 = 12,374 ft/min
In km/h: 62.83 × 3.6 = 226.2 km/h
Centrifugal accel: v² / (R × g) = 62.83² / (0.3 × 9.81) = 1,341 g
⚠️ Safety: At high tip speeds, centrifugal forces on tools and fasteners become extreme. Always verify that hammer pins, bolts, and welds can withstand the calculated forces with adequate safety margins.

Nikolai Shelkovenko
Nikolai Shelkovenko is a vibration analysis engineer and the founder and CEO of Vibromera. For more than 15 years he has balanced rotating equipment in the field rather than on a test bench: mulchers, industrial fans, crushers, centrifuges, shafts and spindles. That work is what the Balanset instruments grew out of — they were designed as a tool a specialist can carry to the machine and use alone, on site, not as laboratory equipment. Vibromera was founded in 2017 and has been based in Porto, Portugal, since 2023. Development, assembly and support of the Balanset line all happen here. The flagship instrument is the Balanset-1A, a portable analyser for single- and two-plane balancing and for vibration diagnostics.
