L,W and h use the selected common length unit and are converted exactly to metres.1m³=1000L;1in=0.0254m exactly. Excluded/additional volumes and product yield are entered in litres. These are general geometry and procurement arithmetic,not a grout-design standard.
Product-specific requirements
Official manufacturer data demonstrate why fixed values are unsafe. The SikaGrout-295 US May2025 data sheet,for example, states23L yield per25kg bag,a10–50mm layer range and product/ambient/substrate temperature requirements. Those values describe that product and are not defaults for another cementitious or epoxy grout. MAPEI likewise directs users to its current product information library for current TDS/SDS documents.
Why the former defaults were removed
The former page assumed a full rectangular prism,hard-coded25L per bag,pre-filled15% waste and gave universal25–75mm,10–20% and5–35°C advice. Its own FAQ said yields commonly differed. It also accepted negative contingency through parseFloat and had no adjustment for pockets or solid displacement. These conflicts were removed.
Not a placement approval: package count is the ceiling of nominal entered yield. It does not compensate for incorrect water/component ratio,discarded batches,pot life,aggregate extension,spillage,leakage or inaccessible voids unless the approved contingency explicitly covers them.
