Bearing Removal (Extraction) Force Calculator
Estimate idealized axial sliding resistance for a same-material solid shaft and thick-walled fitted ring. Actual peak extraction force can differ substantially.
Results
Interface Pressure (Lamé)
Special case for a solid shaft and thick ring of the same isotropic material under the simplified open-ended elastic model:
- δ — diametral interference (mm)
- d — nominal interface diameter (mm)
- Dr — actual outer material boundary of the fitted ring (mm), not overall bearing OD
- E — Young’s modulus (MPa)
Removal Force
⚠️ Interpretation: F = pπdLμ is a uniform-contact friction estimate. No universal error band applies; uncertainty in geometry, interference after roughness, μ and interface condition must be evaluated for the actual removal process.
