Rotor Balancing Equipment for Poland: the Balanset-1A Portable Balancer
The Balanset-1A is a two-channel portable balancer and vibration analyzer for balancing rotors in their own bearings: mulchers, fans, crushers, harvester drums and centrifuges. Vibromera ships it to Poland from Porto, Portugal, inside the EU, so there is no customs clearance. The Full Kit costs €1,975 excluding VAT. For a Polish business with a valid EU VAT number confirmed by VIES and delivery to Poland, the invoice is issued without VAT. The software and its manual are available in Polish.

After the Repair, Before the Restart: Two Tracks, One Job
A freshly repaired rotor is one of the most common reasons to balance: new hammers or flails on a mulcher, a hard-faced crusher rotor, a re-welded fan impeller, new bearings. The repair and the measurement run side by side. This is how the two tracks line up when you own the instrument.
| Stage | In the workshop | With the Balanset-1A |
|---|---|---|
| Step 1Before teardown | Note what was replaced last time and how the machine behaved at working speed. | If the machine still runs, take a reading in vibration-meter mode. It becomes the “before” value in your job record. |
| Step 2Repair | Replace hammers or flails in complete sets: weigh them and fit opposite pairs of equal mass. Weld, hard-face, change bearings. | Weigh parts and trial or correction weights on scales with sufficient capacity. The Full Kit scale measures up to 500 g in 0.1 g steps; use suitable higher-capacity scales for heavier items. |
| Step 3Reassembly | Tighten every fastener and check belts, couplings and the frame. Balancing cannot fix looseness, misalignment or a worn bearing. | Check the spectrum and phase stability. A strong peak at running speed (1×) is a reason to investigate unbalance, but it does not by itself rule out misalignment, looseness or resonance. |
| Step 4Initial run (Run 0) | Run the rotor in its own bearings at a steady working speed. | Sensors go on the bearing housings, a reflective mark on the shaft and the laser tachometer on the magnetic stand. The software records vibration and phase in both planes. |
| Step 5Trial runs | Tack-weld or bolt a trial weight of known mass in plane 1, then move it to plane 2. | Run 1 and Run 2. From the change in vibration and phase, the software calculates the correction mass and angle for each plane. |
| Step 6Correction and check | Weld or bolt on the correction weights and remove the trial weights. | Trim run: compare the result with your tolerance and save the report for the customer or the maintenance file. |
The full procedure with photos, checklists and a record sheet is in the Balanset-1A quick guide. When vibration stays high after balancing, see why balancing does not reduce vibration.

A 600 kg Mulcher Rotor in Poland: the Numbers from the Screen
A Balanset-1A owner in Poland balanced a heavy flail mulcher rotor in two planes, in its own bearings, at about 1,570 rpm. Trial weights of 400 to 600 g were tack-welded to the rotor. The software then asked for 494 g at 3° in plane 1 and 486 g at 331° in plane 2. The customer’s photo of the screen shows every run:
| Run | Speed, rpm | Support 1 | Support 2 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Run 0, initial | 1,565 | 18.45 mm/s at 32° | 20.18 mm/s at 281° |
| Run 1, trial weight in plane 1 | 1,568 | 20.15 mm/s at 4° | 10.88 mm/s at 246° |
| Run 2, trial weight in plane 2 | 1,567 | 20.98 mm/s at 66° | 26.12 mm/s at 289° |
| Trim run, corrected | 1,576 | 5.02 mm/s at 332° | 5.76 mm/s at 312° |
Result: vibration fell by about 73% at the first support and 71% at the second, to 5.0–5.8 mm/s. That is inside the 6–7 mm/s tolerance used for this machine on its flexible (soft) supports.

Rotors You Can Balance in Place
The same kit covers farm, forestry and plant equipment, because the method does not depend on the machine: two sensors, one tachometer mark and a trial weight.
Mulchers and flail mowers
Tractor-mounted flail mowers typically run at 1,800–2,400 rpm. Wear or replacement of hammers and flails can change the rotor’s balance.
Fans, blowers and dust extraction
Exhaust fans, dryer fans and dust-extraction blowers in sawmills, furniture plants and grain dryers, where dust build-up and blade wear shift the balance.
Combines and forage harvesters
Threshing drums, straw choppers and forage harvester cutterheads, balanced in the machine without removing the rotor.
Crushers and hammer mills
Rotors rebuilt by hard-facing or fitted with new hammers in recycling, feed and aggregate plants.
Centrifuges and separators
Separators and decanters in food and dairy plants, balanced as assembled machines in their own bearings.
Motors, pumps and driveshafts
Electric motor rotors after rewinding, pump impellers, cardan shafts and pulleys.
Check suitability before balancing. The Balanset-1A is intended for one- or two-plane balancing of rigid rotors at a steady speed, in their own bearings or on a suitable stand. The documented 100–100,000 rpm range is for rotational-speed measurement; it is not a guarantee of balancing across that entire range. The documented vibration-measurement range is 5–1,000 Hz. Ask an engineer to check your rotor’s speed and vibration range before choosing a balancing speed. Flexible rotors running above their first critical speed need a different approach. Balancing does not repair misalignment, looseness or damaged bearings, and resonance must be assessed separately.
