Source: IEC 60034-30-1:2014 (Tables 3, 5, 7, 9), nominal efficiency limits for 4-pole, 50 Hz motors. IE class limits vary by pole count, frequency and rated power — do not apply this 4-pole table to 2-pole or 6-pole motors (the calculator uses separate data sets for each pole count). Limits are defined from 0.12 kW to 1000 kW; ratings above 200 kW use the 200 kW limit, and ratings below 0.75 kW have lower limits than shown here.

About IE5: IEC 60034-30-1:2014 defines only IE1–IE4 for line-operated motors; IE5 (Ultra Premium) appears there only informatively (Annex A) with a target of approximately 20 % lower losses than IE4. Normative IE5 limits were introduced later in IEC 60034-30-1:2025. The IE5 figures used by this calculator are indicative values derived from the 20 %-lower-losses target — consult IEC 60034-30-1:2025 (or IEC TS 60034-30-2 for converter-fed motors) for exact IE5 limits.
