Equivalent Spring Stiffness Calculator
Calculate equivalent spring stiffness for springs connected in series or parallel. Enter up to 5 individual spring rates and optionally compute natural frequency.
Results
Parallel Connection
Springs share the same deflection; forces add up:
Series Connection

Identical Springs Simplification
For എൻ identical springs of stiffness കെ:
Natural Frequency
With a known mass mounted on the spring system:
Where കെeq is in N/m (multiply N/mm by 1000) and m is in kg.
Practical Example
Given: Mass m = 200 kg, 4 identical springs in parallel, each k = 45 N/mm.
കെeq = 4 × 45 = 180 N/mm = 180,000 N/m
ωഎൻ = √(180,000 / 200) = √900 = 30 rad/s
fഎൻ = 30 / (2π) = 4.77 Hz
💡 Tip: Parallel springs increase stiffness (stiffer system, higher natural frequency). Series springs decrease stiffness (softer system, lower natural frequency).
