Calculate synchronous speed, actual RPM, slip percentage, and slip frequency for induction motors. Enter RPM to find slip, or enter slip to find RPM.
Results
ತಾಲ್ಪರ್ಯ ವೇಗ
The synchronous speed of the rotating magnetic field in an induction motor:
- f — line frequency (Hz): 50 Hz or 60 Hz
- P — number of poles
Slip
Motor slip is the relative difference between synchronous speed and actual rotor speed:
Actual Speed from Slip
Slip Frequency
The frequency of the currents induced in the rotor:

ಪ್ರಾಯೋಗಿಕ ಉದಾಹರಣೆ
Given: f = 50 Hz, P = 4 poles, nameplate RPM = 1450
Ns = 120 × 50 / 4 = 1500 RPM
s = (1500 − 1450) / 1500 × 100 = 3.33%
fslip = 3.33/100 × 50 = 1.67 Hz
fರೋಟರ್ = s × f = 0.0333 × 50 = 1.67 Hz
р▓╕р▓▓р▓╣р│Ж: Slip frequency is a key indicator in vibration analysis. A characteristic vibration at 2× slip frequency (2 × fslip) sidebands around line frequency often indicates rotor bar problems in induction motors.
⚠️ Note: Nameplate RPM represents full-load speed. At partial load, actual speed will be higher (lower slip). At no load, slip is typically 0.5–1%.
